Rest well, Betty Hutton.

Betty Hutton, star of the MGM movie version of Annie Get Your Gun, passed away either today, or yesterday, or perhaps even months ago and we have all been waiting for her estate executor to finally announce it. I'm not trying to detract from the immense sadness of the woman's passing, but come now. Who says, "I'll be happy to talk to you tomorrow!" to the Associated Press after someone dies? Awww, my little inner conspiracy theorist just came out, yelling, "HE DID IT! INVESTIGATE!"
Betty was 86.
I'd watch Annie Get Your Gun in her honor, because I do remember her being brilliant in the role, but I can't. You see, and Betty will see if she decides to hop into my brain for a minute, I can't watch that movie anymore. No, it has nothing to do with Judy Garland. In fact, I think Betty did a better job than Judy, in her condition, ever could have. It's personal. So personal that only Jesus and I know about it.
And Betty will, too, if she decides to buy a ticket to the ferris wheel that is my brain from either Ann Miller or Jeanette MacDonald.

RIP Betty Hutton, and speaking of Judy Garland, there is an exciting and popular new group on Yahoo called THE JUDY GARLAND EXPERIENCE. The group features hours of ultra rare and unreleased downloadable audio files by Judy, great photo’s, lively discussion, and more! The membership is the most ecletic gathering of Garland fans anywhere and includes Judy’s family members, friends, people who worked with her and saw her perform, directors and producers of Garland related projects, authors of Judy biographies, historians, and more! The only thing missing is you. Please stop by our little Judyville, and check it out, you may never want to leave.
